Why I Drive a Yaris

By Peter Klein, Internet Manager at Andrew Toyota
When I unexpectedly found myself in the market for a new vehicle, I knew that I wanted to purchase a Toyota - but I wasn't certain about which model. Despite all of my familiarity with all of the options and specifications of all of our vehicles - I still approached my decision as anyone else would. I wanted to make sure I was buying the right vehicle.
After thinking about what I needed my car to do, and how I would be using it - I settled on a Toyota Yaris 2 door hatchback.
As someone who doesn't have a garage or a driveway, I wanted a compact car which would allow me to park easily and take advantage of small spaces. Despite the small size of the Yaris, its fold-down seats give me the cargo capacity I need for trips to Costco.
The fuel economy was also a key selling point for me. I spend very little time on the highway - so I wanted to make sure that my car would get great gas mileage where I drive it the most - in Milwaukee.
While I did want an "economy" car - I've found that the Yaris has all of the conveniences that I expect - cruise control, an MP3 jack and lots of interior storage. I chose the available power package - so my car does pretty much everything I expect of it.
The 2010 Yaris also comes standard with all of the great safety features that are often left off of economy cars - anti-lock brakes, side curtain airbags and vehicle stability control.
I've had my Yaris for nearly two years. I've been very happy with it.
