Why I Own a Toyota Prius

By Steve Butcher, Toyota Certified Expert Sales Consultant at Andrew Toyota
I always liked to think I was dispassionate about cars. Dependability -- along with regular maintenance -- was the bottom line. The concept of a dream car did not register with me and I had been a happy Toyota owner for 18 years.
My 2007 Prius changed that.
Oh, it still gives me the dependability expected of a Toyota owner and all of the commonly consulted third-party sources confirm that. With vehicle stability control and side and curtain airbags, I like the safety it provides. Consumer Reports said the car was an outstanding value, so that base was also covered. Throw in the fuel economy and the fact that it pollutes 70 percent less than a conventional car and I'm, uh, smitten.
I never thought I would say that about a car.
The only problem is that it can carry a lot of stuff and it doesn't get cleaned out often enough. That isn't the car's fault.
Let's talk about a Prius sometime.
